Eden Cakes and Cupcakes - The Cake Cutting of the Year - Amanda and Ken

On Thursday Amanda visited my design studio in Montville and delivered gorgeous fresh rosebuds that were to feature on the top of each of her cupcakes for her and Ken's wedding the next day.

When Amanda arrived I had just pulled the freshly baked sticky date cake from the oven which was their cake of choice for their top cake.  Amanda had just had her makeup trial and was looking so lovely and of course had a quick look at the freshly baked cake.  The studio was smelling very spicy.

On the morning of their wedding I was busy baking red velvet cupcakes and the studio was buzzing.

The topcake needed to be iced and I whipped up a batch of caramel Italian buttercream and filled and iced the cake.  It was ready to go.

The cupcakes now cold were ready to be dressed and were finished with vanilla bean Italian buttercream and topped with their gorgeous fresh pink and white rosebuds.

The cakes and I were now ready to go so safely packed into their carrying cases we left the Studio and headed to Weddings at Tiffanys in Maleny where the marriage and reception were being held.

The cakes were setup on their stand and looked so beautiful and elegant.

The night was not without incident with the bridal bouquet featuring the brides Great Grandmothers brooch being lost on a picture shoot then when it came to cake cutting the top cake went topsy turvy.

Amanda and Ken just love this photo and all credit to Tom Hall Photography for capturing the moment.  It is gold!!

Amanda and Ken are featuring this shot in their home as Amanda says this depicts who they are.  They are so gracious.

Well, since this pic hit facebook it has caused quite a stir and I have received a lot of enquiry from bridal couples who just love the cupcake presentation.  Obviously their cake presentation cannot be setup to replicate this image but I am pleased they love the look of the presentation.

As Amanda said to me yesterday:

"I think we have started a trend"

All the very best to you both and I look forward to your visit to Montville.  I will definitely have a coffee and of course sticky date cake for us to enjoy.  Looking forward to it.

Best wishes

Libby
